Knit With Me - Welcome to the new Website

These days, the idea of doing anything creative often sounds like such a luxury. Our to-do lists grow and then that thought that we are not very creative anyway pops into our mind. And that’s that, we’ve pretty much convinced ourselves not to spend anytime away from our desk, tv or kids. Sometimes we can actually feel a little ashamed of taking any “me-time”.

So how do I personally switch off from all that chaos out there? By picking up my knitting needles and concentrating on something creative, colourful, rhythmic and mindful. No crazy expensive equipment needed. Simple knitting needles and some yarn is all that is needed. It is also portable so can be taken with you anywhere you go.

I can instantly begin to feel my stress of the day fall away. I can feel my breathing getting deeper and slower and my focus on the yarn and needles in my hands and the rhythmic movement gets me into a state of flow. In fact, I believe when I struggled with anxiety and stress a few years ago, picking up my knitting again changed my life.

I am so passionate about sharing this with others that I have been running knitting and crochet classes in West London for about a year. I have had lots of positive feedback and more queries that I could handle given my other two jobs. So something needed to change.

Over the past couple of months I have been busy working on a website to make course booking easier for people who want to learn. It has involved a lot of technical….stuff ( I am a total technophobe when it comes to computers and websites!) and I've had to really work outside of my comfort zone, but I have finally got there! The Knit WIth Me website is now up and running and classes are available to book. More will get added as the months go on with the next new class being “I made these! - My first pair of knitted socks”.

Be patient with me whilst all the kinks that inevitably will arise are ironed out and please reach out with any queries using my new contact form here or via email connect@knitwithme.co.uk.

I am very excited to have you join me on this new journey and I would like to say a huge thank you to all of those who have helped get me to this point. Firstly Milli and Darren, the owners of Tribe Yarns in Richmond. This shop is incredible and opened my eyes to what “proper yarn” could be. Please visit and you will be as blown away as I was and continue to be. Milli was so welcoming to me the day I walked through the door and has been incredibly supportive as she is off anyone interested in yarn crafts and all women in business. Darren can make me laugh like no one else when I am in the lowest of moods which is an absolute gift and I am genuinely thankful that I can benefit from it. To all my current and past colleagues in Tribe Yarns who are all a joy to work with. The never ending “what are you knitting?” conversations feed my soul along with all the shits and giggles we have. Also a huge thanks to all my new found knitting friends who have also been incredibly supportive of my new adventure, especially Lisa, Kimmie, Rose and Gill. Thanks everyone!!!!
